YOUNGSTOWN -- Police have arrested three Youngstown pupils and issued a misdemeanor citation to a fourth after incidents at four separate schools.
A 15-year-old Rayen School student was arrested on a charge of assault on a teacher after the teacher told police he shoved her in the chest about 12:15 p.m. Monday when she asked him to stop talking during a movie. He was taken to the Mahoning County Juvenile Justice Center.
East side: At East Middle School, a 14-year-old pupil was taken to the justice center on charges of drug abuse marijuana after an assistant principal searched the eighth-grader's purse about 1 p.m. Monday and found a suspected marijuana cigarette and small plastic bag containing suspected marijuana. The girl told police she had stolen the drug Sunday from another girl at a movie theater.
A 16-year-old Chaney High School student was charged with vandalism after he destroyed the window and door frame of a door in a time-out room.
The student had been placed in the room by a teacher about 1:20 p.m. Thursday. He also was taken to the justice center. An arrest report was filed by officers at the city police department Monday.
Bad language: A 13-year-old pupil at the Youngstown Alternative School was cited for using abusive language toward a teacher after he called her a vulgar name in front of other pupils about 2 p.m. Monday.
The seventh-grader also directed vulgar language at the teacher in front of a school security officer.
