MERCER COUNTY Judge sentences man in felony assault case

One of those sentenced broke into a home and stole firearms.
MERCER, Pa. -- A Warren, Ohio, man will serve a prison term for a February drive-by shooting.
Judge Thomas Dobson of Mercer County Common Pleas Court sentenced Terrell Myrick, 21, of Arthur Drive to nine to 18 months in prison Thursday. Myrick will then be placed on two years' probation.
Farrell police charged him with aggravated assault, a felony, for firing a gun at a passing car with six people inside Feb. 19.
After an argument with another man, Myrick fired several shots at the man's auto in the 200 block of Roemer Boulevard, Farrell. No one was injured.
Also sentenced
Judge Dobson also sentenced:
U Greggory Zyak, 23, of Ridge Avenue, Sharpsville, 16 to 32 months in prison for making $3,368 in purchases on six stolen credit cards between December 2001 and January 2002.
The judge ordered him to make restitution to all the victims. He also was sentenced to one to three months in prison, to be served consecutively with his first term, for a misdemeanor count of passing bad checks in August 2000.
UAlicia Bowers, 23, of Butler, one to two years in prison for felony burglary for conspiring with another person to break into a residence on Jackson Center-Polk Road, Worth Township, on Sept. 4, 2001.
Firearms, a telescope, clothing, cash and miscellaneous items were stolen from the residence.
Earlier this week, Judge Francis Fornelli sentenced these people:
UJoseph Canady, 22, of Delaware Street, Sharon, three months to one year in Mercer County Jail for damaging a car owned by a woman he knew by kicking it repeatedly in Sharon in October 2000.
He was ordered to make $1,028 restitution to the woman and given five days' credit for time served.
ULarry Manning, 22, of Hamilton Avenue, Farrell, placed on probation for one year for causing an accident while driving under suspension Oct. 13, 2001. He struck and injured a woman walking along Meadowbrook Drive, Hermitage. Terms of his probation require that he complete his General Educational Development diploma and remain employed.
