Summary of police activity:
LIBERTY
June 11
Warrant: A 21-year-old Niles man surrendered to police on a theft charge.
Bogus checks: Someone reproduced several payroll checks at Pay Care, 2980 Belmont Ave., and cashed them.
Theft: An undetermined amount of money and checks was taken over several months at Advance Pay, 3800 Belmont Ave.
Criminal damage: A man reported that someone shot out his truck's windshield in the 1000 block of Leslie Lane.
June 12
Bogus check: A man reported that Seven Seventeen Credit Union informed him it received a stolen check in his name that was written at Giant Eagle, 4700 Belmont Ave.
Theft: A woman reported three diamond rings and a gold medallion missing from her bedroom in the 700 block of Ventura Drive.
Theft: A woman reported that someone took the mailbox in the front of her residence in the 50 block of Warner Road.
June 13
Warrant: Police arrested a Brookfield man at Knight's Inn, 1680 Motor Inn Drive, on a forgery charge.
Theft: A woman in the 1700 block of Harding Avenue reported that an acquaintance took her car keys and refused to return them.
Domestic violence: Police found broken glass, holes in several walls and gasoline poured on carpeting at a residence in the 500 block of Murray Hill Drive before arresting a man on a domestic violence charge. The suspect's wife reportedly had a bump on her forehead.
June 14
Theft: Police charged two female juveniles with stealing two tank tops, a pair of shorts and various other garments from Ames department store, 3551 Belmont Ave.
June 15
Theft: Police arrested a 27-year-old Warren woman after she reportedly stole $270 worth of power tools from Ames.
Theft: A woman reported that several male juvenile suspects stole her son's bicycle and threatened him with a gun in the 3400 block of Hadley Road.
June 16
Attempted auto theft: A man reported that a male teenager damaged his car's steering column before attempting to steal the vehicle in the Holiday Inn parking lot, 1620 Motor Inn Drive.
Criminal damage: A man in the 4700 block of Logan Way reported that someone pulled into his driveway and threw a potted plant at his home, breaking a window.
Vandalism: Someone threw a bottle and broke a window at Pleasant Valley Church, 2055 Pleasant Valley Road.
Domestic violence: Police arrested a 23-year-old Youngstown woman after she allegedly poured a pot of boiling water on her boyfriend at their residence in the 3000 block of Hadley Road. The man suffered various second-degree burns over 70 percent of his back.
June 17
Bogus check: A Youngstown woman was arrested after allegedly attempting to deposit a stolen check at First Place Bank, 600 Gypsy Lane.
Burglary: A caretaker of a residence in the 500 block of East Liberty Street had a neighbor call police after he noticed a rear sliding door was ajar.
Drug abuse: A Youngstown man was arrested on drug charges after police found several suspected marijuana pipes and suspected marijuana in a car they stopped on Sampson Drive.
GIRARD
June 13
Theft: A woman alleged her stepson took a circular saw from her garage in the 100 block of West Howard Street.
June 15
Burglary: Police arrested a female suspect after a woman reported seeing a window to her residence open in the 200 block of Taylor Avenue.
June 16
Breaking and entering/theft: A woman reported that someone broke into her car and took her wallet, various beauty supplies, a flat iron and a bookbag in the 200 block of Louis Avenue.
Theft: Police arrested three juvenile suspects on various theft charges in the 20 block of East Liberty Street.
Theft: A bicycle was taken from a garage in the 200 block of East Second Street.
June 17
Assault: An 11-year-old boy reported being assaulted in the 200 block of East Wilson Avenue.
Criminal damage/theft: About 60 compact discs and a radio-CD player were stolen from a vehicle, which had its passenger-side locks broken, in the 200 block of East Wilson Avenue.
Criminal damage/theft: A truck had its driver's-side lock damaged, and an AM-FM compact disc player and 75 CDs were stolen from it in the 100 block of Elruth Avenue.
Theft: A car stereo was removed from a vehicle in the 30 block of East Wilson Avenue.
Breaking and entering/theft: Someone kicked in a garage door and removed a stereo and amplifier from a pickup truck in the 200 block of East Howard Street.
Criminal damage/theft: A car's window was broken, and an AM-FM compact disc player and 40 CDs were stolen from it in the 130 block of Elruth Court.
HUBBARD
June 13
Criminal damage: A Farrell, Pa., man reported that someone deliberately hit a golf ball through his vehicle's back window at Deer Creek Golf Course, 7691 E. Liberty St.
June 14
Assault: A woman reported that her son was assaulted at the city building, 220 W. Liberty St.
June 17
Vandalism: A woman in the 200 block of Rebecca Avenue reported someone drove a vehicle through her front yard.
June 19
Theft: A Parks Department employee reported that someone stole some "No Litter" signs from Waugh Field.
Drugs: Police arrested a man behind Michael's Tavern, 862 N. Main St., on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia.
