OFFICERS Canfield Jr. Women's League holds installation ceremony



Committee heads and project chairmen were listed and past presidents acknowledged.
CANFIELD -- An installation ceremony for officers who will head the Junior Women's League of Canfield during the 2002-2003 season was conducted by outgoing president Patty Machingo during a meeting held May 22.
Inducted as president was Terry Schade, who has been a member since 1997 and has served as president-elect, first vice president and recording secretary. She also has headed the bike parade, social and First Night Canfield committees, and worked on the Fall Market, American Girl Pastime Party, cookbook, snow cone and nominating committees.
A pharmaceutical sales representative with Glaxo Smith Kline, Schade is a member of the Canfield United Methodist Church, its choir and nurture committee, and has served on the Canfield Little Cardinals Board. She has been a volunteer with the American Cancer Society and American Diabetes Association. She and her husband, Terry, have two children.
Associate officers
Installed as her executive board were Karen Pavlansky, president-elect; Sue Janca, vice president; Judy Buck, recording secretary; Melanie McCormick, corresponding secretary; and Laurie Hixon, treasurer. Patty Machingo is the parliamentarian.
Named as committee heads were Maureen Murphy, constitution; Lisa McCormick, federation; Hixon, finance; Deana Tareshawty, historian; Judy Codespote, hospitality; Janet LeClair, nominating; Christine Hanrahan, publicity; Sharon Tareshawty, resource; Marnie Murphy, social; Rita Peters, telephone; and Susan Murdock, ways and means.
Department heads will be Anne Liller, conservation; Sally Joseph, education; Linda Czopur, fine arts; Mary Witkowski, home life; Janice Jarvis, international; and Patty Jones, public affairs.
Chosen to head projects were Suzanne Esposito, blood bank; Peters and Sue Ramdin, yearbook; Melanie McCormick and Pavlansky, Fall Market; Marcia Melvin, cookbook sales; and Lisa McCormick, picture sales.
Other business
Past presidents were recognized, Judy Bauman was honored as Outstanding Member of the Year, and awards were presented. Participating in the program were Witkowski and Barbara Kongmuang.
Planned activities will be the Fall Market on Sept. 21 and the sale of the club's cookbook and prints of Canfield beginning July 4.
