2 face drug charges
BOARDMAN -- Two township teen-agers face misdemeanor drug charges after a township officer found them with marijuana in the parking lot of Boardman High School on Glenwood Avenue, police reports show.
A 16-year-old boy and his 15-year-old sister, both of Aylesboro Avenue, were cited around 3:20 p.m. Wednesday. Each faces charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and marijuana drug abuse.
Wallet reported stolen
POLAND -- Someone stole a wallet with $800 from a stroke patient at the Sunrise Assisted Living of Poland on West McKinley Way, village police reports show.
An employee of the center reported to police Wednesday that the son of the resident had discovered the wallet missing from his father's sock drawer Monday. Because of conditions of the stroke, the resident was unable to give information about the wallet, police reports show.
The employee said that many people have access to residents' rooms. He also said that residents often misplace their belongings.
Accused of steak theft
AUSTINTOWN -- A Youngstown man accused of running from Santisi's IGA on Mahoning Avenue with several stolen steaks under his coat was slated to be arraigned on a theft charge later today.
The man, 32, of Cool Street, was expected to be arraigned in Mahoning County Court here.
The store owner told police he watched the man run out of the store with the steaks at about 7 p.m. Wednesday. When the man tried to get in a car in the store's parking lot, he was pushed out by the driver.
The man then ran toward a nearby motel, where he was later found by police. The steaks were in a motel room shower.
The driver said he brought the man to the store. He added that he did not know that the man was planning to steal items from the store, and he was not charged.
