Dental surgeon
Melinda Ann Ross, daughter of James and Patricia Nellis of Canfield, recently earned her doctor of dental surgery degree from Ohio State University College of Dentistry. She graduated cum laude.
Dr. Ross is a 1994 graduate of Canfield High School, and a 1998 graduate of Westminster College with a degree in biology.
During her time at OSU, Dr. Ross was a member of Psi Omega Dental Fraternity, serving as treasurer for three years, and was a member of the American Student Dental Association. She was also a four-year recipient of a Lloyd-Wilkins Dental Scholarship. She will soon begin her dental career in Cortland where she lives with her husband, Matthew.
Clinical psychologist
Darrell Timothy Bunkley, son of William and Doris T. Bunkley of Vienna, has received his doctor of clinical psychology degree in advanced medical education from Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill. Darrell received his bachelor of science degree from The Ohio State University. He is a graduate of Mathews High School in Vienna and is a National Merit Scholar.
Dr. Bunkley is a mental health counselor-therapist at Howard University Hospital in Washington, D.C. He works primarily with HIV infected couples, children and families.
From Aug. 28 to Sept. 1 he will participate in the Canada-U.S. AIDS 400-mile bicycle vaccine ride from Montreal to Maine. Net proceeds from the ride will benefit the work of scientists at two of the world's leading university research facilities, the UCLA AIDS Institute and the Emory Vaccine Center, two facilities working on the development of an HIV/AIDS vaccine.

Recent graduate
Julia Ann Pecano, daughter of Donald and Sandra Pecano of Canfield, recently received her juris doctor degree from Southwestern University School of Law, Los Angeles, Calif.
Before her legal studies, Atty. Pecano earned her bachelor of arts degree in television and film from Bowling Green State University. She lives in Los Angeles.
3 associate attorneys
Harrington, Hoppe & amp; Mitchell Ltd., a regional law firm with offices in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties, has hired three new associate attorneys.
Michael J. McGee, originally from Howland Township, will work primarily out of the Warren office. McGee graduated from John Marshall Law School in Chicago, Ill., in 1995 and has worked for the attorney general of Illinois for the last six years.
Rebecca Hall of Hanoverton will work primarily out of the Lisbon office. Ms. Hall graduated from the University of North Carolina School of Law in 1999 and most recently worked for Lexis Publishing in Hudson.
Jeffery D. Williams, originally from Canfield, most recently from Akron, will work primarily out of the Youngstown office. Williams graduated from the University of Akron School of Law in May.
