Greek Festival goes on
WARREN -- The Greek Festival at St. Demetrios Community Center continues through Sunday at the Atlantic Street N.E. center. Festivities begin at 6 p.m. each day. The Hellenic Stars band performs beginning at 6 p.m. Saturday with the Grecian Odyssey Dancers from Pittsburgh performing beginning at 6:45 p.m. At 7:30 p.m. and 8 p.m., the St. Demetrios Folk Dancers also will perform. Nea Compania, a Greek band, performs from 6 to 11 p.m. Sunday with performances at 7 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. by the Grecian Odyssey Dancers. Admission to the festival is free, and Greek food and pastries are for sale throughout the festival.
Bus to state fair
CANFIELD -- The Mahoning County Farm Bureau will provide bus transportation Aug. 2 to the Ohio State Fair. Cost is $20 and includes the fair entry fee. Reservations are required as seating is limited. The bus will leave the Mahoning County Educational Farm at 7574 Columbiana-Canfield Road across from the Canfield Fairgrounds at 7:30 a.m. Aug. 2 and return about 12:30 a.m. Aug. 3. Program on grants
YOUNGSTOWN -- Reservations are being taken for a Grant Center orientation program scheduled for the Main Library meeting room, 305 Wick Ave., 9:30 a.m. Aug. 2. "Grantseeking Basics: An Orientation to the Funding Research Process" is a basic orientation to the Grant Center collection. This program is intended for representatives of nonprofit organizations new to the process and who want to know more about the library's resources or for previous participants who would like a refresher. The orientation is free. Reservations can be placed by calling the main library at (330) 744-8638 and pressing 2 at the phone prompt for "reference information."
