Officials pull tax breaks
WARREN -- Trumbull County commissioners have approved yanking tax breaks for three companies that have been sold or failed.
An annual review of tax abatements found that 88 companies lived up to their commitments to create new jobs, said Gary Newbrough, director of the planning commission.
Another seven or eight companies neglected to turn in the annual paperwork and have been given 30 days to do so, he said.
The three companies to lose abatements are CSC, LLC., with plants in Champion and Warren Township; Trumbull Industrial Manufacturing of Warren; and ATD Corp. of Vienna.
A tax abatement for Ajax Magnethermics of Howland did not come under review because it was only granted this year.
