Mosquito spraying
CHAMPION -- Mosquito spraying in the township is set for Tuesday, starting about 8 p.m.
Residents are advised to keep pets and children indoors and to cover or move beehives.
Anyone not wanting their property sprayed should call (800) 460-5447, although trustees noted that it is difficult to spray one property and not get spray on an adjoining one.
Board of education
BROOKFIELD -- The board of education will meet at 9 a.m. Saturday in the high school computer room for its regular July meeting.
A public work session will precede the meeting at 8:30 a.m. The board normally meets the third Wednesday of the month.
Project bids
CHAMPION -- The board of education will meet at 4 p.m. Monday to act on bids for the stadium band shell project and middle school paving project.
Library cuts hours
LORDSTOWN -- The public library here is reducing its hours to allow for staff lunch time.
Starting Monday, the library will close from 12:30 to 1 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays.
When fall hours resume, the lunch-time closure will be extended to Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
Sports card show
NILES -- A sports card and collectibles show will be at Eastwood Mall on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
Dwight White, a defensive linemen for the Pittsburgh Steelers' championship teams of the 1970s, will sign autographs Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m.
Cost of the autograph is $10.
First-time home buyers
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Youngstown Area Urban League will host "Advice for the First-Time Homebuyer that makes dollars and cents," at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 707 Arlington St.
