AUSTINTOWN -- Elizabeth Foy, 4893 Westchester Drive, is announcing the engagement of her daughter, Sharlene Renee Foy of the same address, to Richard Paul Piper, 4843 Westchester Drive, son of Paul and Jennifer Piper, 451 Rhoda Ave., Youngstown.
The bride-elect also is a daughter of the late George Foy.
An open ceremony is planned for 2 p.m. Oct. 12 at Simon Road Church of God in Boardman, and invitations will be extended for a reception to be held that evening at the Mahoning Country Club in Girard.
A graduate of the University of Akron with a bachelor's degree in communication, Miss Foy is employed as a GED teaching assistant at the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center in Canfield.
The future groom is a shift manager at Papa John's Pizza in Poland.
