Corporate moves
Some recent corporate changes in the Mahoning Valley:
2002: Phar-Mor is about to close its corporate headquarters in Youngstown as it sells the company.
2001: FFY Bank, formerly First Federal Savings and Loan of Youngstown, merges with First Federal Savings and Loan Association of Warren to create First Place Bank. Headquarters established in Warren, although some administrators are kept at FFY's former headquarters in Boardman.
2000: Commercial Intertech Corp., which was based in Youngstown, is bought by Cleveland-based Parker Hannifin.
1999: Easco, which had a corporate headquarters in Girard, is bought by Canadian-based Caradon and its name is changed to Indalex Aluminum Solutions.
1999: Mahoning National Bank of Youngstown and First Western Bank of New Castle are acquired by Sky Bank.
1998: Sygnet Communications of Canfield, which operated as Cellular One and Wilcom Cellular locally, is acquired by Oklahoma-baed Dobson Communications.
1997: WKBN-TV is acquired by Gocom Communications and WKBN radio is acquired by Jacor Communications.
1996: DeBartolo Realty Corp. of Baordman is acquired by Simon Property Group of Indianapolis.
