Q: Why do clothing manufacturers put white pocket linings in white pants and skirts? Don't they know it shows through and looks awful?
A: You have a point. Skin-toned linings would be less obvious -- although there are so many variations in skin tone, I'm not sure it would be possible to choose a one-tone-suits-all color for linings. Perhaps that's why manufacturers choose white.
While on the subject of white clothing, a reminder: If you don't want underwear to show through white blouses, dresses and pants, choose underwear in a shade as close as possible to your skin color.
