Traveling (age 18-younger)
B.B. Rooners 8, Willoughby 5 -- Winning pitcher Cole Budinsky struck out five batters as Rooners won the Beast of the East Tournament in Wheeling, W.Va., for the second straight year. Matt Colella and Phil Butch were among the batters with two hits. Rooners went 8-0 in the tournament.
Traveling (ages 11-12)
Canfield 12, Boardman East 7 -- Dom Rich's three hits led Canfield's 16-hit attack in the Springfield Tournament game. Brian Fox, Anthony Gromada, Andrew Zunic and Jared Turocy each had two hits.
Little League District Tournament(ages 11-12)
Boardman West 9, Lordstown 1 -- Tyler Amendola struck out 14 batters and had three hits, Mike Popio homered and Michael Lower doubled for Boardman.
Lakeview 12, Warren 9 -- Winning pitcher Ryan Nisbitt had three hits in the eight-inning game. Ryland Hardman's three hits included a three-run homer. For Warren, Paris Bruner had two hits and Deon Rogers hit a three-run homer.
Canfield 4, Austintown South 2 -- Jake Kucek's fifth-inning double launched a rally that featured RBI singles by Brian Fox, Bob Horberger and Dan Banna. Jim Haupt, Jimmy Kinnick and Adam Meese produced Austintown's singles.
Tri-T Pony (ages 13-14)
Canfield Anthem Blue Cross 12, Struthers Gridiron 5 -- Winning pitcher Joe Rosko struck out 10 batters and gave up four hits as Canfield (21-5) won the Pony Championship. Rosko, Kyle Schuchler, C.J. Morris, Tom Ivany, Joe Fox, Paul Ruchtie and Chris Ulery each had two hits. Also on the title team are Dan Goske, Kyle Banna, Pat Bellish, Sean Baker, Andrew Turocy, Tarik Awad and Greg Sopher. For Struthers (20-6), Adam Wilaj, Mike Duponty and Chris Kadvan each doubled.
