Opening ceremonies will honor safety forces.

BAZETTA -- The smell of funnel cakes, the sounds of roaring engines and the flashing lights of rides will greet visitors at the 156th Trumbull County Fair, which opens Tuesday and runs through Sunday.
Tuesday's opening ceremonies at 11 a.m. will honor firefighters, emergency workers and police. The annual Parade of Colors is Tuesday night at 7.
New events this year include the Hollywood Stunt Show at 2 p.m. Sunday, billed as America's No. 1 auto thrill show. The show features 2002 Mustangs.
New ride
The Tower of Terror is new to the midway rides being offered by Bates Brothers Amusements Inc.
Adventurous fairgoers will pass through a maze before descending down a 75-foot circular slide.
A new Clover Bud tent can be found in the Junior Fair area, featuring the accomplishments of 4-H'ers ages 5 to 8. The Junior Fair will also include a straw maze, several agriculturally related games and handouts for children.
The popular demolition derby returns for two nights, Tuesday and Wednesday at 7 p.m.
Racing
Motocross racing is set for Thursday at 7 p.m.
The OSTPA tractor pull is scheduled for Saturday at 6 p.m.
Featured entertainers this year are Emerson Drive and The Earthquakers.
Emerson Drive is a hot new band from Canada that is expanding the definition of country music. They will perform at 8:30 p.m. Friday.
The Earthquakers, from Meadville, Pa., are a rock act which will perform at 6:30 p.m. Sunday.
Weather reports are predicting partly cloudy days with highs in the low 80s throughout the week and little sign of rain.
Admission is $6 Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday and $7 Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Senior citizens admission is $3. Ticket prices include all rides, grandstand shows, and parking.
Weekly fair passes are available for $15, which includes admission to the grounds and grandstand shows. Pass-holders must pay extra for rides.
