RUBENA ZIROUNISDEMETRIOS PAPAKIRK
YOUNGSTOWN -- Married at 3:30 p.m. May 26 at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church were Rubena Zirounis and Demetrios Papakirk. The bride is a daughter of Florence Zirounis of Youngstown and the late Michael Zirounis. Mr. Papakirk is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Costas Papakirk of Thessaloniki, Greece.
The Very Rev. John Karabatsos and the Rev. Dr. Christos Christakis officiated, and a reception was held at Antone's Banquet Centre in Boardman. After a honeymoon to Hawaii, the newlyweds are living in Cranberry, Pa.
Given in marriage by her brother, Nikitas Zirounis, the bride wore a white gown of matte satin trimmed with Venise lace appliqu & eacute;s. It featured a bolero jacket, and the skirt fell to a chapel train.
Maid of honor was Susan Kalochoritis, and bridesmaids were Carol Fountaine and Kelli Rawden, the bride's sisters; Ruth Lynn Thomas, her cousin; and Kiki Papakirk, the groom's sister. They wore navy blue gowns.
Stylianos Papakirk served as best man for his brother, and groomsmen were the groom's cousins, Steve Papakirk, Tasos Georgopoulos, Jim Kioultzopoulos and James Papakirk. Koumbari were Mr. and Mrs. Chris Papakirk.
Mrs. Papakirk holds a bachelor's degree in applied science from Youngstown State University and is a registered general medical technologist with Forum Health in Youngstown.
Her husband holds a bachelor's degree in accounting and finance and a master's in management from Miami University. He is manager of operations finance at H.J. Heinz Co. in Pittsburgh.
