Party for multiple births
YOUNGSTOWN -- St. Elizabeth Health Center is planning "A Celebration of Multiples -- The More the Merrier" for all twins, triplets and quadruplets born at the health center since 1985.
Sponsored by the departments of obstetrics and pediatrics, the event will be from 1 to 4 p.m. July 14 in the D.D. and Velma Davis Education and Visitor Center at Fellows Riverside Gardens of Mill Creek MetroParks.
A special welcome ceremony and activities such as face painting, clowns and family photos are planned. Educational materials and other information about support groups is available, and there will be tours of the gardens and the new education and visitor center throughout the day. Beverages and light snacks will be provided.
More than 40 sets of twins are born at St. Elizabeth's each year, along with an average of three to four sets of triplets.
"It is exciting to watch these children as they grow," said Dr. Elena Rossi, director of neonatology and chairwoman of pediatrics at St. Elizabeth's. Dr. Rossi will be on hand to greet the children, along with neonatologists and perinatologists from St. Elizabeth's.
