Probing man's death
CORTLAND -- Police are investigating the death of a 41-year-old Warren man.
Detective Tom Andrews said Stephen Nagy, 41, of Stewart Circle Northwest, was found dead at the bottom of a ravine around 8:45 a.m. Sunday by a woman walking near Walnut Creek.
An autopsy was to be performed today by the Trumbull County Coroner's Office.
Andrews said there is no indication of foul play.
Free tax assistance
HOWLAND -- The SCOPE Center will begin providing free tax assistance Friday.
The service will be available each Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Penthouse Room through filing deadline time.
No appointment is necessary.

Investigating robbery
WEATHERSFIELD -- Township police are investigating a Friday night robbery at a state Route 46 discount store.
Capt. Joe Consiglio said employees of Dollar General were carrying the store's receipts through the parking lot about 9:45 p.m., when a man described as being about 5 feet 5 inches tall, black, with a slim build demanded the money and reached into his sweat shirt pocket as if he had a weapon.
After employees gave him the money, he ordered them to lie face down while he fled on foot.
Packard cycle show
WARREN -- Pleased by record-breaking attendance, officials at National Packard Museum are looking to draw celebrity motorcycles to be part of its "Thunder of the Road" exhibit.
Officials have said they're trying to obtain for exhibition a cycle owned by Elvis Presley.
The Mahoning Avenue museum's annual exhibit runs through April 20. More than 1,000 people have seen the show since it opened Jan. 8.
More than 27 cycles spanning 80 years are on display. Clark Gable's 1942 Harley Davidson "Knucklehead" motorcycle has been on extended exhibit because of the attendance.

ATV reported stolen
HERMITAGE, Pa. -- An All-Terrain Vehicle was stolen in the past six weeks from a garage in the 1300 block of Hoffman Lane.
Police said the garage was left unlocked.
The red $6,000 Suzuki was reported missing Friday.
Construction site theft
HERMITAGE, Pa. -- Cabinets and heating equipment valued at $18,000 were stolen from a home under construction on Lori Lane.
Police said this morning that 32 boxes of oak cabinets and electric and gas heaters were taken between 4 p.m. Thursday and 8:30 a.m. Friday. A window was forced open.
Program by dentist
HOWLAND -- Dr. Harold L. Crossley, a dentist and associate professor of pharmacology at the University of Maryland Dental School, will present the first program in the Corydon Palmer Dental Society's 2002 continuing education series Wednesday at Avalon Inn & amp; Resort.

Stopped at checkpoint
BOARDMAN -- A DUI checkpoint on South Avenue, north of U.S. Route 224, yielded one DUI arrest, a citation for possession of suspected marijuana, three citations for open containers, 18 equipment violations and 21 warnings for failing to wear seat belts. Three drivers were cited for operation under suspension and their vehicles were towed.
A total of 424 vehicles passed through the checkpoint conducted by the Mahoning County Sheriff's Department between 10 p.m. Friday and 4 a.m. Saturday.
