Multifaith day set
YOUNGSTOWN -- "Faith in the Face of Crisis: Religion After Sept. 11" is the theme of the annual multifaith day in the Mahoning Valley. The event this year is sponsored by Catholics. The event is from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 7 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. The speaker will be Dr. Robert VanDale, director of the Peace and Conflict Resolution Center at Westminster College. The event will include a "faith fair" in which various faiths will have information available about their beliefs. The cost is $10, which includes lunch. Reservations shoud be made by Jan. 28. Choir fest set
NILES -- The 2002 Interfaith Choir Festival will be at 7 p.m. Feb. 10 at Trinity Lutheran Church. It's open to all Niles Christian churches. There will be a combined anthem at the finale. Refreshments will be served after the concert.
Fund-raiser set
NEW SPRINGFIELD -- The New Springfield Church of God's youth group will have its second annual "groundhog" supper from 5 to 7 p.m. Jan. 26. The supper features "ground hog": pork sausage patties with hash browns, biscuits and gravy, and scrambled eggs. The event will help to fund the youth group's trip to the International Youth Convention of the Church of God from July 4 to 7 in Denver, Colo. Tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for children ages 6 to 12. Children under 5 years of age may eat for free.
Praise party
YOUNGSTOWN -- A "Praise Party for Life" will be at 7 p.m. Monday at New Covenant Worship Center in conjunction with Sunday's Sanctity of Human Life observance and the Rally for Life in Washington, D.C. The party is sponsored by Care Net Pregnancy Center of Mahoning Valley.
