McDonald broke out of an eight-game losing slump.
CANFIELD -- Erin Martin scored 31 points and Canfield had nine other players in the scoring column, as the Cardinals defeated Hickory 70-35 Thursday.
The Cardinals (10-4) jumped out to a 15-2 lead, and held a commanding 35-12 margin at intermission.
Colleen Gottuso sparked the Hornets (10-5) with 21 points.
McDonald 49, Mathews 30: MCDONALD -- Sophomore Amanda Prater scored a season-high 19 points, as McDonald snapped an eight-game losing streak in an Inter-County League game.
Junior Sara Toth added 11 points, 12 rebounds, six assists and five blocked shots for the Blue Devils (2-10, 1-5 ICL). Brittney Thompson scored 10 points for McDonald.
Lowellville 57, Jackson-Milton 48: LOWELLVILLE -- After building up a 15-point lead at halftime (33-18), the Rockets saw their cushion cut to six points (50-44) early in the fourth quarter.
Then freshman Amanda Nero hit a basket and three free throws to give the Rockets (8-4, 4-2 ICL) a 55-44 lead. Nero scored 15 of her 25 points in the second half, and she had 11 rebounds.
Tami Nero had 12 points and seven assists for the Rockets, who hit seven 3-pointers, all in the first half. Lowellville has won three in a row.
Jesi Hemphill had 14 points and 12 rebounds, Sarah Hohnson scored 12 points and Desra Tomaino had 10 points for the Blue Jays (4-8, 1-6).
Springfield 43, Mineral Ridge 42: MINERAL RIDGE -- With about 20 seconds to go, Lindsey Johnson made a free throw to snap a 42-all tie.
Johnson finished with 12 points and 12 rebounds for the Tigers (5-7, 3-3 ICL).
Tiffany Hack scored 20 points and pulled in 12 rebounds for the Rams (7-4, 2-3).
Hubbard 50, Liberty 35: YOUNGSTOWN -- Each team finished with 15 field goals, but Hubbard used the foul line to win the Trumbull Athletic Conference game.
Katy Jo Mroski scored 20 points, Lynlee Cornell had 15 and Jami DuVall had 11 more for the Eagles (12-2, 9-1).
Just four players scored points for the Leopards (3-10, 4-9), who were paced by Jessica White with 18 points. White also had a team-high five rebounds.
Hubbard held a 15-2 advantage at the foul line.
Lakeview 55, LaBrae 24: CORTLAND -- The stingy Lakeview defense limited LaBrae to six first-half points in building a commanding 29-6 lead.
Amy Harrison paced the Bulldogs (5-8, 4-6 TAC) with 18 points. She also grabbed nine rebounds and had six steals. Natalie Bates led the Vikings (0-13, 0-9) with 12 points.
Leetonia 64, Sebring 22: LEETONIA -- Jackie Durham scored 16 points and Bri Duko added 15 for Leetonia in the Tri-County League.
The Bears (9-2, 5-1 TCL) jumped out to a 19-0 lead in the first quarter, held a 34-12 margin at the intermission and they were ahead 48-14 at the end of the third period.
Durham and Jessica Deville pulled down 11 and 10 rebounds, respectively, and Duko had six steals.
Kim Brunie paced the Trojans (3-10, 1-5) with 11 points.
Lisbon 55, Southern 31: SALINEVILLE -- Tina Huckshold scored 20 points to pace the Blue Devils (7-4, 3-3 TCL).
Lisbon built a commanding 38-19 lead by halftime.
Lacey Dangelo led the Indians (3-8, 0-6) with 10 points.
