MAHONING VALLEY Howard Hanna to highlight real estate listings on show

YOUNGSTOWN -- Howard Hanna Real Estate Services will begin a weekly television show to highlight its area listings Jan. 20.
"The Sunday Showcase of Homes in the Mahoning Valley Region" will be on WKBN Channel 27 at 11:30 a.m.
Howard Hanna III, president and chief executive of the Pittsburgh-based real estate company, said the show is designed to encourage impulse buying.
People watching the show may be attracted to a home they would not have otherwise noticed, perhaps because it's in a different location or price range, he said.
Instead of homes being grouped by location as they are in newspaper classified advertisements, homes from different locations and price ranges are interspersed throughout the show.
The company has been running a similar show in Pittsburgh for nearly 20 years.
Open houses: The timing of the show was selected to be right before Sunday afternoon open houses.
The company is buying time from WKBN, but it is not charging any extra fees or commissions to owners of homes that are listed.
About 40 homes will be listed on each show, including about 25 that will have open houses that day.
Hanna said homes will be rotated each week so most of the company's listings in Mahoning, Trumbull, Columbiana, Mercer and Lawrence counties will be on the show.
The show has verbal descriptions of the homes, along with interior and exterior photos.
