Eagle award
Kevin W. Prus Jr., 18, of Blue Heron Drive, Canfield, a son of Kevin W. Sr. and Dawn M. Prus, received the Eagle Scout award at a recent court of honor ceremony at Canfield United Methodist Church.
He is a member of Boy Scout Troop 25 at the church, where his father serves as scoutmaster. Prus Jr. joined the troop in 1995 and is assistant scoutmaster. His other troop positions have been as scribe, quartermaster, patrol leader, assistant senior patrol leader and junior assistant scoutmaster.
For his service project, he refurbished Canfield United Methodist Church's detached garage and storage facility. This involved reshingling the roof, removing overgrowth on the side of the building, painting the building, replacing the entry door, sealing the windows and a putting on a new garage door.
He has earned 28 merit badges and the Arrow of Light, Wapashuwi Lodge 56 Order of the Arrow Ordeal Member, Fifth Year Pipestone, Gettysburg Trail Medal and Patches, and 50-mile Afloat (200 club). He received troop awards of Order of the Ant, Bob Roberts Memorial Back Patch with six points, and third-year Sourdough. He attended the Tinnerman Canoe Trip, Gettysburg Trail and Mammoth Cave.
He is a senior at Canfield High School, where he is a letterman in cross country and baseball, and honor roll student and was a member of the marching band as a freshman. He is a member of St. Michael Church, Canfield.
