DIVISION I SWIMMING Canfield runner-up at Perry

Howland freshman Heather Gilmour won the 200 freestyle and the 500 freestyle.
PERRY -- The Canfield High girls swimming team placed second with 439 points in the Division I sectional swimming and diving meet Saturday at Perry High School Community Fitness Center.
Mentor won the title with 491 points. Warren Harding finished fourth with 194 and Howland was sixth with 177.
Jen Netwick, Elia Sorice, Ashley Linnelli and Meghan Linnelli of the Cardinals took first place in the 200-yard medley relay in a school record 1 minute, 56.23 seconds.
Ashley Linnelli, Netwick, Vanessa Gestosani and Meghan Linnelli won the 400 freestyle relay in a school record (3:46.19).
Linnelli sets records: Meghan Linnelli won the 50-yard freestyle in a sectional record 24.53 seconds and she won the 100 freestyle in a sectional record (53.0).
Ashley Linnelli finished second in the 100 butterfly (1:03.49). Nentwick finished third in the 100 backstroke (1:06.91).
Melanie Sherman, Abby Prichard, Sorice and Gestosani placed second in the 200 freestyle relay (1:50.84).
Kelly Reese of Canfield took first place in the 1-meter diving. Teammate McKenzie Kline finished third.
Heather Gilmour, a Howland High freshman, won the 200 freestyle race in 2:00.53 and the 500 freestyle in 5:32.74.
Gilmour, Hollie Rawl, Laureen Prozega and Mary Ellen Ditchey of the Tigers placed second in the 200 freestyle relay (1:54.56).
Johnna Simon of Warren Harding finished second in the 100 breaststroke (1:14.21).
Gates Mills Hawken was the boys Div. I championship with 327 points. Chagrin Falls Kenston was second with 298 and was followed by Mentor (291), Canfield (272) and Warren Harding (252). Howland was ninth (94), Warren JFK 12th (55), Hubbard 15th (42) and Ursuline 18th (13).
Eric Esposito, Nathan King, Tyler King and Eddie Angelo of Warren Harding took first place in the 200 medley relay (1:45.51), and Canfield's Sameh Elguizaoui, Nick Frankle, John Sinsheimer and Rob Frankle placed third (1:46.28).
Angelo, Tyler King, Esposito and Nathan King won the 400 freestyle relay (3:25.06).
Double winner: Nathan King of the Panthers won the 200 individual medley (1:57.96) and the 100 backstroke (53.0). Rob Frankle of the Cardinals was second (2:12.14).
Esposito of Harding finished third in the 200 freestyle (1:53.89) and fifth in the 500 freestyle (5:11.94). Teammate Tyler King was sixth in the 100 butterfly (59:45).
The Cardinals' John Sinsheimer took first place in the 100 breaststroke (1:03.31) and was third in the 100 freestyle (50.46). Rob Frankle was second in the 200 individual medley (2:12.14). Nick Frankle was second in the 500 freestyle (5:03.25).
In boys 1-meter diving, Matt Zuzik of Canfield took first place and teammate Jon Donadee came in second.
