HOUSTON -- Plenette Pierson had 21 points, nine rebounds and two blocks to for Texas Tech. Natalie Ritchie converted a four-point play with 1:40 left to give the Lady Raiders (9-1) some breathing room.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- Ruby Vaden scored 16 points and reserve Dana Cherry added 15 before leaving with an injury. Cherry had 11 points in the second half before being knocked to the floor and losing her breath.

DAYTON -- Lindsay Whalen had 33 points, 11 assists, six rebounds and six steals as Minnesota remained undefeated with a victory over Dayton. Whalen was 12-for-21 from the field and 8-for-8 from the free-throw line. The Golden Gophers (11-0) are ranked in the Top 25 for the first time.

CHICAGO -- Sara Boyer scored 19 points, and No. 21 Wisconsin-Green Bay used an 18-6 run in the second half to ease away from Illinois-Chicago in the Horizon League opener for both. Ranked for the first time in school history, Wisconsin-Green Bay (9-2) held Illinois-Chicago (6-5) to 37-percent shooting while winning for the ninth time in 10 games.

VILLANOVA, Pa. -- Katie Davis scored 19 points, all of them in the first half on 7-of-10 shooting. Trish Juhline added 14 points and four rebounds, Jana Rediger had a career-high 12 points and nine rebounds, and Jenna Viani had a career-high 11 points for Villanova (9-1).
