New Castle's Young let go by Xavier

New Castle's Younglet go by Xavier
Senior guard Dave Young, who played at New Castle High School, was dismissed from Xavier's basketball team Monday as the 19th-ranked Musketeers prepared for a stretch of two games against unbeaten teams.
Young played only seven minutes and failed to score in an 84-60 victory Saturday night over Eastern Kentucky. After the game, Xavier's David West, a Preseason All-American, said the Musketeers (8-2) lacked cohesiveness because some players were more concerned about their roles than the team.
Young averaged 5.1 points per game this season, losing playing time after freshman Dedrick Finn took over as the point guard and Lionel Chalmers moved to the other guard spot.
Young wasn't eligible to play as a freshman. He averaged 2.5 points as a sophomore, and moved into a starting role last season, averaging 8 points in 30 games.
