No. 1 Duke 88, Iowa St. 59
LOS FRESNOS, Texas -- Alana Beard had 26 points and a career-high four blocked shots as top-ranked Duke matched the best start in school history and won the South Padre Island Shootout.
It was Beard's sixth straight game with at least 20 points and Duke's 12th consecutive victory. The Blue Devils also started 12-0 in the 1987-88 season.
Lindsey Wilson led Iowa State (4-5) with 20 points.
No. 6 Stanford 82, No. 21 Arizona 74
STANFORD, Calif. -- Sebnem Kimyacioglu scored a career-high 19 points and blocked a crucial shot in the closing minutes as sixth-ranked Stanford rallied from a 13-point, second-half deficit.
Susan King added 17 points, including five free throws in the final 2:42, as the Cardinal (8-1, 2-0 Pac-10) won their 23rd consecutive conference game.
Kimyacioglu blocked Julie Braise's shot with 1:30 left and Stanford holding a four-point lead. Krista Warren had a career-high 25 points for Arizona (7-3, 1-1).
No 7 Purdue 73, Western Michigan 65
WEST LAFAYTETTE, Ind. -- Mary Jo Noon scored 22 points, and seventh-ranked Purdue had to hold off a late bid by surprising Western Michigan.
Shereka Wright added 16 points for the Boilermakers (9-1), whose 21-point lead was cut to two. The victory was the 62nd in a row by the Purdue against unranked non-conference opponents at Mackey Arena during the regular season.
Casey Rost led Western Michigan (5-4) with 14 points, and Maria Jilian had 13.
No. 13 North Carolina 84, Charleston Southern 49
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- Coretta Brown scored 12 of her 14 points in the first half, and North Carolina coasted to victory.
Candace Sutton added 12 points and Nikita Bell 10 for the Tar Heels (9-1).
No. 14 Mississippi St. 70, Texas-Pan American 38
MISSOULA, Mont. -- Tan White had 15 points, seven steals and five blocks to lead Mississippi State in the consolation game of the Lady Griz Holiday Classic.
LaToya Thomas added 14 points for the Lady Bulldogs (9-2), who bounced back from Saturday's 69-65 loss to unranked Utah. Texas-Pan American (0-10) was led by Alex Gravel with 16 points.
Mississippi State scored the game's first 11 points.
No. 18 South Carolina 96, Charleston Southern 52
COLUMBIA, S.C. -- Jocelyn Penn had 28 points and eight rebounds, and led an early 11-0 run that helped South Carolina pull away.
Penn had five points in the run that gave the Gamecocks (10-1) a 17-6 lead with 15:17 left in the first half. Cristina Ciocan added 14 points, Petra Ujhelyi 13 and Tonisha Reese a career-high 13 for the Gamecocks.
Danielle Tipton scored 16 points and Keairra Levy 12 for Alcorn State (6-4).
Tulane 69, No. 20 Boston College 50
NEW ORLEANS -- Delacey Joseph had 16 points, and Tulane rallied in the second half to upset Boston College.
Joseph added five assists for Tulane (8-2), and Teana McKiver had 15 points.
Brianne Stepherson led Boston College (7-3) with 17 points and six rebounds.
Tulane outscored Boston College 45-21 in the second half after trailing 29-24 at the break. The Eagles made only nine of 23 shots in the final 20 minutes.
Colorado St. 55, No. 22 UC Santa Barbara 44
FORT COLLINS, Colo. -- Jasai Ferrucho scored 13 points, and Colorado State controlled play in the second half to upset UC Santa Barbara.
After shooting a dismal .190 while making just four of 21 shots in the first half, the Rams (7-4) were 14-for-28 over the final 20 minutes. They overcame a 20-15 halftime deficit and outscored the Gauchos (5-2) 40-24 after the break.
Lindsay Taylor led UCSB with 13 points, and Lisa Willett added 11.
No. 25 Michigan 64, Massachusetts 61
GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Tabitha Pool scored 17 points as Michigan won the consolation game of the State Farm Classic.
Michigan (9-2) trailed 61-56 with just over a minute to play when Pool and freshman Niki Reams hit 3-pointers to give the Wolverines the lead for good. Reams scored five of her 16 points in the final minute.
Jennifer Butler had 18 points for Massachusetts (8-3).
