YOUNGSTOWN Police, FBI search for man who robbed Home Savings

The robber escaped on foot with about $3,000, including four marked 'bait' bills.
YOUNGSTOWN -- The FBI and city police continue looking today for a robber whose picture was captured on a surveillance camera in a downtown bank.
The FBI said a robber handed a note demanding money to a teller at Home Savings & amp; Loan Co.'s downtown headquarters around 3:15 p.m. Thursday and fled on foot.
The FBI described the robber as a black man in his late 20s to early 30s, between 5 feet 6 inches and 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing 160 to 170 pounds, and wearing a dark "puffy" jacket, jeans and white tennis shoes. City police added that the robber had black hair, brown eyes and a goatee.
A female teller told authorities the robber approached her window and said he wanted to make a withdrawal, city police said. When the teller asked him for his driver's license, he grabbed a piece of paper and a pen and wrote "Give me money shoot" and handed it to the teller, reports show.
Took about $3,000
The robber then kept his arm by his waistband, implying he had a gun, the teller reported. The teller reached into her drawer and handed the robber about $3,000, including four marked "bait" bills, before he briskly walked out the front doors of the bank, at 275 Federal Plaza West, and headed west on West Federal Street toward the WRTA bus station, police said.
FBI Special Agent Bonnie Rutherford took the pen, the note and two surveillance videotapes as evidence.
Anyone having information about the robbery is asked to call Youngstown police at (330) 742-8900 or the FBI at (330) 965-2940.
