Bruins 5, Sharks 2
BOSTON -- John Grahame made 25 saves, and the Boston Bruins snapped a six-game winless streak.
The Bruins started 19-4-3-1, but their last victory came against the New York Rangers on Dec 8th. Boston allowed 25 goals during its winless streak.
San Jose wrapped up its five-game road trip 1-2-1-1 and has given up 16 goals in the last three games.
Bryan Berard, Ivan Huml, Joe Thornton, Mike Knuble, and P.J. Axelsson scored for Boston.
Teemu Selanne scored his team-leading 18th goal, and Boston native Jim Fahey added his first NHL score for the Sharks.
Capitals 3, Lightning 0
WASHINGTON -- Olaf Kolzig made 40 saves for his first shutout this season as Washington stretched its unbeaten streak to four.
Steve Konowalchuk, Robert Lang and Peter Bondra scored the Washington goals. The Capitals have won three straight in their 3-0-1 stretch to reach .500 for the first time since Nov. 16.
The Washington streak has coincided with Kolzig's return after missing four games with a groin injury. He's allowed just six goals during the four games since his return.
Devils 2, Rangers 2
NEW YORK -- Mike Dunham stopped 40 shots and Richard Lintner scored the tying goal in the third period to lift New York into a draw with New Jersey.
Both teams scored, while the teams skated 4-on-4, within a minute of each other in the first period.
Patrik Elias gave New Jersey a 1-0 lead at 14:33. Joel Bouchard tied it for New York 57 seconds later.
The Devils took a 2-1 lead at 3:03 of the second period on Scott Gomez's fifth goal.
Both Lintner and Bouchard scored their first goals for the Rangers.
Islanders 3, Canadiens 1
UNIONDALE, N.Y. -- Dave Scatchard's goal with 5:36 left helped New York rally past Montreal.
Mark Parrish and Claude Lapointe also scored for the Islanders, which got 12 saves from Chris Osgood, making his first start in three games.
Jose Theodore turned aside 33 shots as Montreal's four-game road winning streak was snapped. The Canadiens, who got a goal from Mike Ribeiro, have only lost twice in six games (4-2).
Flyers 2, Senators 2
OTTAWA -- Simon Gagne scored early in the third period, and Philadelphia salvaged a tie with Ottawa.
Ottawa which won at Philadelphia on Saturday, is undefeated in four games (3-0-1) and 15-2-4 since a 7-1 loss Nov. 9 in Boston.
The Flyers, 4-1-1 in their last six games, tied it on Gagne's sixth goal.
Philadelphia goalie Robert Esche stopped 26 shots.
Todd White and Shaun Van Allen scored for Ottawa. Michal Handzus had the other Philadelphia goal.
Patrick Lalime made 28 saves for Ottawa.
Predators 3, Panthers 2, OT
SUNRISE, Fla. -- David Legwand scored a power-play goal 42 seconds into overtime as Nashville earned just its fourth road victory by beating Florida.
Adam Hall and Brent Gilchrist also scored for the Predators, who won for the second time in eight games.
Florida went to overtime for a league-high 17th time.
Kristian Huselius and Branislav Mezei scored for the Panthers, 1-4-4-1 in their last 10 home games.
Maple Leafs 5, Thrashers 1
TORONTO -- Alexander Mogilny scored three goals as Toronto extended its home unbeaten streak to 10 games with a victory over Atlanta.
Jonas Hoglund and Aki Berg also scored for Toronto, which lost 1-0 to Atlanta a week earlier. Tony Hrkac scored the lone goal for the Thrashers, losers of three straight games since beating Toronto.
Ed Belfour had a strong game, stopping 20 shots for the Leafs -- 9-0-1 at home since a loss to Detroit on Nov. 16.
Blues 5, Kings 0
ST. LOUIS -- Brent Johnson stopped 30 shots to earn his second consecutive shutout at home and Cory Stillman scored two goals as St. Louis beat Los Angeles.
Al MacInnis added three assists, including the 900th of his career, for the Blues.
The Kings have lost two straight after winning five of their previous seven.
Johnson's best saves came midway through the second period when the Kings had a 2-on-1 short-handed rush.
Scott Mellanby, Pavol Demitra and Keith Tkachuk also had St. Louis goals.
Flames 3, Wild 2
ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Blake Sloan and Craig Berube each scored their first goal of the season, 49 seconds apart, as Calgary beat Minnesota.
Calgary snapped a two-game losing streak and Minnesota has lost three straight for the first time this season. Calgary had been shut out in its two previous games. Jarome Iginla's goal snapped a 171 minute, 15 second scoreless streak, the third-longest in Flames history. Richard Park scored a short-handed goal for Minnesota and Marian Gaborik added his 22nd goal of the season for the Wild.
Avalanche 5, Canucks 3
DENVER -- Rob Blake had two goals and an assist as Colorado beat Vancouver for its third straight win under new coach Tony Granato.
Dean McAmmond and Derek Morris had a goal and two assists each for Colorado, unbeaten in five games overall. The Avalanche are unbeaten in four straight at home after opening the season winless in eight games there.
Milan Hejduk scored his 14th of the season and extended his point streak to eight games, a season high for Colorado.
Markus Naslund scored his league-leading 23rd goal, and Henrik Sedin, Trevor Letowski added goals for Vancouver.
