AROUND THE NBA Sunday's games
Jazz 103, Grizzlies 74
MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Karl Malone and Matt Harpring scored 17 points each for Utah. The loss snapped Memphis' five-game home winning streak. Utah has won two straight, both on the road, following a four-game losing streak. Andrei Kirilenko added 15 for Utah, and Tony Massenburg, who played last season in Memphis, scored 11. Malone also had 11 rebounds. Memphis did not have a player in double figures until Mike Batiste scored with 49 seconds remaining. Shane Battier finished with 11, while Batiste had 10.
Lakers 109, Raptors 107, OT
TORONTO -- Kobe Bryant scored 31 points, including a layup with 33.2 seconds left in overtime, as Los Angeles ended a three-game losing streak. "We had to pull this one out of the fire," Lakers coach Phil Jackson said. "This was very close to the prototype of the way we've been playing. We just can't seem to break through." Shaquille O'Neal added 31 points and 15 rebounds for the Lakers, who barely escaped Toronto with a win. The Raptors were without injured All-Star Vince Carter and leading rebounder Antonio Davis. Morris Peterson had a game-high 27 for the Raptors, who have lost three straight and seven of eight. Peterson's long jumper with 9.2 seconds left in regulation appeared to give Toronto a one-point lead, but official Michael Henderson ruled it a 2-pointer instead of a 3. "He didn't make any calls. He missed them all," Toronto coach Lenny Wilkens said. Toronto's Lindsey Hunter also complained about the officials, saying they "just don't want us to win" late in the fourth quarter. Robert Horry made one of two free throws to make it 109-107 with 8.5 seconds left.
Heat 92, Knicks 84
NEW YORK -- Eddie Jones scored 22 points and Mike James added a career-high 17 for Miami. Malik Allen added 17 points and James scored 11 points in the fourth quarter for the Heat, who won their third straight game for the first time this season. Howard Eisley had 19 points and Kurt Thomas had 16 for the Knicks, who fell apart after shooting 65 percent in the first quarter.
Kings 103, Warriors 88
SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Chris Webber had 20 points, 12 rebounds, six assists and four blocks, leading Sacramento over Golden State. It was the Kings 12th straight win over the Warriors, dating to March 9, 1998. Golden State lost its second straight and has dropped five of six. In his best game since coming back from an injury, Peja Stojakovic had 20 points. Bobby Jackson scored 17 points and Bibby had 13 points and six assists as the Kings won for the first time in three games with him back in the lineup. Antawn Jamison scored 20 points for the Warriors, who shot 36 percent and had just 13 assists.
