Proclamation celebration
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance will have its annual Emancipation Proclamation Commemorative Worship and Installation Services at 11 a.m. Jan. 1 at Ebenezer Church of God in Christ. The Rev. Kelvin E. Turner, the new president, will speak.
Other officers who will be installed are: the Rev. Lewis Macklin, vice president; the Rev. Willie Peterson, second vice president; the Rev. Henry Clinkscale Jr., treasurer; Minister Michael Write, secretary; Minister Lorene Alexander, financial secretary; and the Rev. Ernest Ellis, chaplain.
Christmas worship
POLAND -- New Life Assembly of God will present a Christmas worship celebration, "Rise Up and Praise Him," at 6 p.m. Sunday.
Choir performance
WARREN -- Emmanuel Lutheran Chancel Choir will present the Christmas cantata "The Wondrous Story" at 6 p.m. Jan. 4, the eve of the 12th day of Christmas. Refreshments will be served after the performance.
New youth program
WARREN -- Howland Community Church invites children from age 3 through third grade to enjoy its first Christmas Extravaganza from 1 to 3 p.m. today. The event is free.
Prayer rally set
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Greater Youngstown Coalition of Christians will have a prayer rally at 7 p.m. Jan. 3 at Berean Fellowship.
Christmas cantata
SALEM -- Believers Christian Fellowship Church will present its Christmas cantata "Come and Worship" at 10:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Sunday. Call (330) 337-3606 for more information.
Special events
FARRELL, Pa. -- New and Living Way Evangelistic Ministry will have a service at 7:30 p.m. Friday with the theme "Stop, Look & amp; Listen."
The church will also have a service at 10 p.m. New Year's Eve.
75th anniversary
WARREN -- Sts. Cyril and Methodius Church will observe its 75th anniversary in 2003. The parish plans to have activities all year and is preparing a keepsake booklet. The celebration will include Mass at 2 p.m. Oct. 5, 2003, with Bishop Thomas Tobin of the Catholic Diocese of Youngstown as presider, and former pastors as co-celebrants. Afterward, there will be a banquet at St. Demetrios Community Center. Call (330) 393-9766.
Parent workshop
YOUNGSTOWN -- Catholic Charities Regional Agency is offering a workshop for the parents of children age 7-12. Topics include: handling stress, developmental stages, and skills to build and keep a positive relationship with a child. Sessions will be at the CCRA office at 4495 Market St., Youngstown, and will be conducted by licensed counselors. Sessions will be from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Jan. 16 and 30 and Feb. 13 and 27.
