BATON ROUGE, La. -- Seimone Augustus scored 16 points, and No. 2 Louisiana State used a 21-2 first-half run to pull away from Louisville, 65-46, in the championship game of the womenscollegehoops.com Classic.
LSU (8-0) continued its best start since winning the first 14 games of the 1996-97 season.
The Lady Tigers also improved to 14-0 in regular-season tournament games at home.
Lori Nero led Louisville (3-4) with 15 points, and Sarah Nord added 14.
LSU extended its 18-point halftime lead to 41-19 on layups by Augustus and DeTrina White early in the second half. But the Cardinals responded with a 10-0 run over the next 2:27.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- Dana Cherry scored 13 of her 14 points in the second half as Arkansas drew away.
The Lady Bears (3-4) took a 22-21 lead on a layup by Meg Tierney, who finished with 18 points, to open the second half.
Then Arkansas (8-1) started taking care of the ball and forcing turnovers.
A minute into the second half, Shameka Christon made a 15-footer from the baseline to take back the lead.
Then pressure defense and sharper shooting enabled Arkansas to build its lead to 48-32 with 10:03 to play.
Christon finished with 13 points, and India Lewis and Ruby Vaden had 10 each. Cherry also pulled down 10 rebounds.
No. 14 Mississippi State 66,Bethune-Cookman 61
ORLANDO, Fla. -- LaToya Thomas scored eight of her 22 points over the final 2:31 as Mississippi State avoided an upset in the Central Florida Holiday Classic.
Tan White added 16 points, seven rebounds and four assists for the Bulldogs (7-1), winners of five straight games. Katie Clark led Bethune-Cookman (4-4) with 16 points.
Edna Lastrapes hit a 3-pointer for the Lady Cats to cut the lead to 60-59 with 2:25 to go. But Thomas responded with a short jumper and a layup to make it 64-59 with 43 seconds to play.
