CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- Rashad McCants scored 19 points, and Jackie Manuel added 14 as No. 23 North Carolina forced 23 turnovers in an 80-54 victory Thursday night over Vermont.
The Tar Heels (6-2), coming off a 12-day exam break, snapped a two-game losing streak. Vermont (3-6) lost its sixth straight game.
McCants was 7-for-11 from the field. Manuel had a career-best four 3-pointers while adding seven rebounds, four assists and five steals in 24 minutes.
The Catamounts were without their two best players. Honorable mention All-American T.J. Sorrentine is recovering from broken wrists in the preseason.
Taylor Coppenrath, averaging 21.7 points, has been diagnosed with pneumonia.
No. 10 Texas 97, McNeese St. 59
AUSTIN, Texas -- Brandon Mouton and Brad Buckman scored 15 points apiece, and Texas snapped a two-game losing streak.
James Thomas added 12 points and 10 rebounds for the Longhorns (6-2), playing their first home game since Nov. 27.
Thomas recorded his sixth double-double of the season. T.J. Ford had 11 assists.
Eldridge Lewis and Greg Tucker had 13 points each for McNeese State (4-3).
No. 17 Stanford 84, UC Irvine 57
STANFORD, Calif. -- Julius Barnes scored 24 points, and Stanford avoided its first three-game losing streak outside the Pac-10 Conference since 1969.
Josh Childress added 11 points and 10 rebounds for the Cardinal (6-3). Dan Grunfeld added 12 points and Rob Little 11.
Greg Ethington scored 13 points to lead the Anteaters (3-3), who had won three in a row. Jordan Harris added 12.
No. 22 Tulsa 90, Oral Roberts 80
TULSA, Okla. -- Kevin Johnson and Jason Parker had 18 points apiece, and Tulsa overcame 29 by Reggie Borges to defeat its crosstown rival.
Jarius Glenn and Dante Swanson had four points each in a late 12-3 run the Golden Hurricane (6-1) used to put the game out of reach. It was Tulsa's third straight win over the Golden Eagles.
Borges also had seven rebounds for Oral Roberts (6-2).
Glenn, starting for the injured Antonio Reed, finished with 17 points, and Swanson added 16.
Illinois-Chicago 70,Northwestern 53
EVANSTON, Ill. -- Cedrick Banks came off the bench to hit his first five jump shots and scored 31 points to lead Illinois-Chicago (5-2).
Evan Seacat came off the bench to lead Northwestern in scoring with 16, all in the second half and T.J. Parker added 15.
Joe Scott had nine points for Illinois-Chicago and Armond Williams had 11 rebounds.
Bowling Green 75, Oakland 68
BOWLING GREEN -- Kevin Netter scored 17 points and had a career-high 10 rebounds to lead five Bowling Green players in double figures.
Jabari Mattox added 15 points, Ron Lewis 14, Cory Eyink 11 and Cory Ryan 10 for the Falcons (3-4).
Mike Helms of the Grizzlies (3-3) led all scorers with 31 points, while Rawle Marshall put in 14 and Cortney Scott had 11 rebounds.
