DURHAM, N.C. -- Alana Beard and Iciss Tillis each scored 21 points and combined for 10 steals to lead Duke (9-0). Mistie Bass added 16 points for Duke, while Lindsey Harding had 14, Sheana Mosch 12 and Michele Matyasovsky 11. Cormisha Cotton had 15 points for Florida International (6-3).

BATON ROUGE, La. -- Aiysha Smith had 13 of her 15 points in the first half to lead LSU, which was playing its first game in 11 days. LSU (7-0) is off to its best start since winning the first 14 games in 1996-97. Andrea Johnson had 24 points for Ohio (1-6).

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Gwen Jackson scored 16 points and Kara Lawson added 12 as the Lady Vols (8-1) beat the Cardinal (5-1) for the sixth consecutive time. Ashley Robinson and freshman Shanna Zolman each scored 10 points for the Lady Vols. Robinson had nine rebounds. Sebnem Kimyacioglu led the Cardinal with 18 points.

COLUMBIA, S.C. -- Jocelyn Penn scored 25 points and South Carolina held Louisiana-Lafayette to two field goals in the opening half. The Gamecocks (8-0) continued their best start since going 9-0 in 1988-89. Louisiana-Lafayette (2-5) was 2-of-22 from the field in the first half with both baskets 3-pointers as South Carolina took a 40-11 lead. Sarah Richey led the Cajuns with 12 points, all in the second half.

AUSTIN, Texas -- Kala Bowers and Coco Reed each scored 20 points to lead the Longhorns (5-2), who shot 78 percent from the field in taking a 39-25 halftime lead. Chronda Hawkins led the Lady Mavs (2-5) with 14 points.

TUCSON, Ariz. -- Freshman Shawntinice Polk had 26 points and 11 rebounds for her seventh double-double in as many games. Aimee Grzyb had 13 points and Krista Warren added 12 for the Wildcats (5-2), who snapped New Mexico's eight-game winning streak. Jordan Adams scored 17 points for the Lobos (8-2), and Mandi Moore had 16 points, seven rebounds and seven assists.
