SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -- Jess Hansen made a 3-point basket from the top of the key with 31 seconds remaining in overtime for the Gauchos (4-1). Purdue had a chance to tie the game with a half-second remaining when Emily Heikes was fouled after an offensive rebound. Heikes made her first free throw but missed the second, and UCSB's Brandy Richardson grabbed the rebound as time ran out. Lindsay Taylor led UCSB with 22 points and 11 rebounds, while Hansen had 21 points, including six 3-pointers in 10 attempts. Shereka Wright had 26 points for Purdue (7-1). Beth Jones added 18 points.

LUBBOCK, Texas -- Plenette Pierson scored 19 points, and Texas Tech held Oregon State scoreless for nearly 5 minutes in each half. The Raiders (5-1) got their fifth straight win, trailing the Beavers (5-3) only briefly in the early going. Hollye Chapman scored 18 points for Oregon State, and Jia Perkins added 14 points for Tech.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- La'Tangela Atkinson got 16 points and 12 rebounds, and North Carolina had a 15-0 run in the second half. The Tar Heels (7-1) held the Phoenix (2-3) to just 26.1 percent shooting en route to a 36-16 halftime lead. Nikita Bell had 12 points and six steals for the Tar Heels. Reserve Jessica Williams led Elon with 16 points.

ATHENS, Ga. -- Sherill Baker sank two free throws with 2.5 seconds to play, and No. 20 Georgia overcame an injury to top scorer Christi Thomas. Mary Beth Lycett led Georgia (6-2) with 17 points, Baker finished with 13 points and Driskell 10. Liz Shimek led the Spartans (4-4) with 14 points.
