Police seek man who shot resident

Tuesday, December 17, 2002

SHARON, Pa. -- Authorities were still searching today for a man involved in a shooting on Davis Street last week.
Police said Wade Massey, 30, was shot after answering a knock at his front door about 5 p.m. Friday. Police said Massey wasn't seriously hurt and was hospitalized briefly with an upper shoulder wound.
Authorities said it's unclear if Massey knew the shooter. Police said the suspect is described as a black man, 6 foot tall, about 220 to 240 pounds with a mustache. Police said he was wearing a black down ski jacket with an orange stripe, a stocking cap and baggy jeans. He drove off in a light-colored minivan.
Police said a motive for the shooting was unclear.
This is the second shooting Massey reported this year. Southwest Mercer County Regional Police said Massey contended he was shot in the hand in Farrell in January by a man who stopped his vehicle at a street corner and tried to rob him. His injury wasn't serious, police said.
