GIRLS BASKETBALL James hits game-winner as Raiders stop Leetonia



Crestview stayed unbeaten with a win over Springfield.
LEETONIA -- Jodi James scored a basket to beat the buzzer and give the South Range High girls basketball team a 58-57 win over Leetonia Monday.
With 2.8 seconds to play, James took an inbound pass at the foul line and hit the winning 14-footer for the Raiders (2-3).
Michelle Pingley made five 3-pointers and scored 16 points while Kelly James scored 13 points for the Raiders. Also, Jessie Clayton had 12 assists and Kelly James had eight rebounds.
Bri Duko had 19 points and Jess Deville had 16 more for the Bears.
Lowellville 57, Struthers 32
STRUTHERS -- The Nero sisters combined to out-score the Wildcats as Tami Nero hit for 18 points and Amanda Nero added 17.
The Rockets (6-0) led 24-11 at the break.
Kristy Marapese scored 16 points for the Wildcats (2-4).
Crestview 46, Springfield 43
EAST FAIRFIELD -- Cheryl McCall scored 19 points while Kate Kester collected 10 points and eight rebounds for the Rebels (6-0).
Lindsay Johnson hit for 17 points and added 13 rebounds for the Tigers (3-3).
Crestview led 32-23 after three quarters before the Tigers closed fast.
Canton Timken 51, Chaney 44
YOUNGSTOWN -- The City Series game was knotted at 38-all with four minutes to play and then the Trojans (2-4, 1-0) finished with a 13-6 run.
Natasha Thompson scored 17 points and Amanda DePasquale pulled in 13 rebounds for Timken.
Chaney (1-5, 0-1), which saw three players foul out in the waning minutes, got 10 points and 10 rebounds apiece from Donielle Eldridge and Quiana Faison.
Bristol 58, Southington 43
SOUTHINGTON -- Jen White fired in 16 points and Niki Light backed her up with nine points for the Panthers (5-0, 3-0 Northeast Athletic Conference).
Rebecca Derr finished with 23 points, seven rebounds and four assists while Melissa Smith scored eight points for the Wildcats (2-4, 1-2).
Bristol clung to just a 26-20 lead at intermission.
Lordstown 39, Bloomfield 23
LORDSTOWN -- Elizabeth Allison scored six points in the first and third quarters and finished with 17 points for Lordstown.
Lordstown (2-8) led just 14-9 at the break but out-scored the Cardinals (0-8) 14-4 in the third to forge a 28-13 front.
Suzy Warren scored eight points for Bloomfield.
Waterloo 44, Southeast 39
RAVENNA -- Kara Gintert had 20 points and Kay Dillon 11 more for the Pirates.
Southeast led 31-30 after three quarters but got beat 14-8 the rest of the way.
Wellsville 46, Campbell 22
CAMPBELL -- Jessica Dinch scored 12 points for Wellsville (1-3), which shot 49 percent (21-for-44) from the floor.
Tierra McIntosh led Campbell Memorial (0-7) with 18 points and 10 rebounds. It was her fourth double-double of the season.
