Campbell man faces weapon and traffic charges

CAMPBELL -- A 19-year-old city man is free on $5,000 bond after police charged him with carrying a concealed weapon and leaving the scene of an accident.
According to police reports, Aaron E. Todessa of Whipple Avenue, backed a van registered to Rick Todessa, of the same address, into a vehicle parked on the street in front of 22 Andrews about 2:40 p.m. Sunday.
The report states police also received a call from a Burger King employee about an hour earlier who said that the teenage occupants of the van were drinking when they came through the drive-through.
After police located the van on Andrews and asked Todessa to stop, they saw him throw a handgun into the lap of a rear-seat passenger. The .22 caliber revolver was loaded with six rounds.
The rear-seat passenger told police he did not know Todessa had the gun until he tossed it into his lap.
Todessa was to appear in court today on the weapons charge, traffic violations, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
