Christmas party
YOUNGSTOWN -- The annual children's Christmas party of Big Brothers & amp; Big Sisters of Mahoning Valley will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday in McKay Auditorium, Beeghly Hall, at Youngstown State University.
The children and their families will be treated to a catered lunch. Santa Claus will distribute presents, and the 2002 Big Brother and Big Sister of the Year and Volunteer of the Year will be announced.

Buckeye holiday meeting
YOUNGSTOWN -- Buckeye Eyes and Ears Blockwatch will have its annual holiday meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Word of Grace Church, 2724 Mount Vernon Ave.
President John Nittoli urged all residents in the South Side's Buckeye area to attend. The group is asking each household to bring one or two dozen cookies to be given to area shut-ins for the holiday.
Refreshments will be served after the meeting.
