LIMELIGHT Awards, achievements

YOUNGSTOWN -- Giant Eagle Inc., based in Pittsburgh and with several stores in the Mahoning and Shenango valleys, ranked 22 on Forbes magazine's largest corporation list and was honored as America's Retailer of the Year in Progressive Grocer, a supermarket industry trade publication. The Retailer of the Year award is presented to a chain that exemplifies overall excellence in the areas of market growth, innovative practices, strategic planning, business and community stewardship. Giant Eagle has more than $4.4 billion in average annual sales.
AKRON -- Cambridge Home Health Care, based in Akron and with facilities in Warren and Youngstown, was honored with the Weatherhead 100 Award for the third consecutive year. The award recognizes the fastest and most consistently growing companies in northeastern Ohio, and Cambridge was ranked 15th in that group. The company also received honorable mention in the 2002 Medical Mutual of Ohio Pillar Award for Community Service.
NORTH JACKSON -- Arthur Weaver of North Jackson is a new member of the American Angus Association, a national breed registry based in St. Joseph, Mo. The association is the largest beef cattle registry group in the world.
HUBBARD -- Mike Holdford, an investment representative with the Hubbard office of Edward Jones, has been named to the All-American Team of The American Funds Group of mutual funds, in recognition for outstanding service to investors. The Mount Union College graduate joined the company in July 2000.
