YSU trusteesto reconvene talks
YOUNGSTOWN -- Youngstown State University trustees were to reconvene at 12:30 today to continue discussions on a fact-finder's report concerning the faculty labor contract. Trustees met in executive session for two hours Monday without taking action on the report, then recessed. Joseph S. Nohra, trustee chairman, said the board would vote today or Wednesday to accept or reject the report, which calls for up to 6.2 percent annual faculty pay increases. "We haven't completed our discussions. There's a lot of thought being put into it," Nohra said. Wednesday is the board's deadline for action. Faculty union members were voting Monday and today on the report; voting was to close at 4 p.m. today. The faculty plans to strike the first day of classes, next Monday if no settlement is reached. YSU officials have said classes will be held if there's a strike.
