The engagement of Amy Beth McCarthy, a daughter of Sharon McCarthy, 8228 Blackwillow Circle, Anaheim Hills, Calif., and Kevin James Bishop, a son of C. James and Martha Bishop, 890 Waugh Drive, Hubbard, is announced by the couple's parents.
The bride-elect graduated from California State University in Fullerton, Calif., with a bachelor's degree in political science and earned her juris doctorate at Syracuse University College of Law in Syracuse, N.Y. She is a second lieutenant with the U.S. Air Force in personnel.
Her fiance, a special operations navigator and second lieutenant with the Air Force, graduated from Syracuse University with a bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering.
The couple will extend invitations for their 7:30 p.m. Oct. 5 wedding in Chapel One at Randolph Air Force Base and for their reception at the Double Tree Hotel, both in San Antonio, Texas.
