BOARDMAN -- The wedding of Jill Olenych and Jeffrey Groat took place at 4:30 p.m. July 19 at St. James Meeting House in Boardman Township Park.
James and Joyce Patterson, 654 Oakridge Drive, are the bride's parents, and the groom is a son of Carol Groat of Woodhaven, Mich., and the late Michael Groat.
The Rev. David Blood officiated, and a reception followed at the Saxon Club in Austintown.
The couple, who plan a delayed honeymoon to Aruba, are living at 7805 Huntington Circle.
The bride's strapless diamond-white gown featured a lace bodice trimmed with pearls and crystal beading.
Shades of pink were worn by the matron of honor, Judy Volosin, the bride's sister, and the bridesmaids, Karen Gresh and Linda Beany. White gowns were worn by the junior bridesmaids, Alyssa, Amanda and Megan Volosin, the bride's nieces, and the flower girl, Lyndsay Olenych, her daughter.
David Ditzler performed the duties of best man, and groomsmen were Jeffrey Olenych, the bride's son, and Nicholas Groat, the groom's son.
Mrs. Groat graduated from Bowling Green State University with a bachelor's degree in education and earned a master's degree in curriculum at Youngstown State University. She is a third-grade teacher at Watson Elementary School in Austintown.
Her husband attended the University of Maryland and is a national-sales engineer with Roth Bros. in Youngstown. He served in the U.S. Air Force.
