SHARON SPEEDWAY Racers nearing season's finish line

Drivers have two races left to move up in the point standings.

HARTFORD -- With only two races left until champions are crowned in Sharon Speedway's four divisions, racing will be fast and furious this Saturday as drivers jockey for position on the track and in the point standings.
In the Sunburst Environmental Sprint division, Mike Kekich of Hermitage, Pa., leads Jarod Larson of Rock Creek, by 66 points.
The Coy Brothers E-Mod division features the closest point battle with Carl McKinney of Cranberry Township, Pa., leading Tim Rhoades of Meadville, Pa., by just one point.
Dwayne Clay of Warren, has a comfortable lead in the Burghill Auto Salvage Pure Stock division of 197 points over Jason Reagle of Oil City, Pa.
Ron Smoker, of Hamburg, N.Y., continues to lead in the Gibson-Governor V-8 Modified division with a 99-point cushion over Jim Rasey of Southington.
Speedway giveaway
In addition to regular on-track activity in all four divisions during Truck World Globe Restaurant and Leonard Truck and Trailer night, the speedway will hold a giveaway.
Gates open at 4 p.m., with hot laps beginning at 6:30 p.m. and racing at 7 p.m.
Tickets are available at the gate. Reserved seats cost $12 for adults, $7 for children ages 12-15 and $2 for children ages 3-11.
General admission prices are $10 for adults, $5 for ages 12-15 and free for children 11 and younger.

Tickets for Tony Stewart Night on Aug. 15 are on sale and moving quickly.
Tony Stewart, driver of the No. 20 Home Depot NASCAR Winston Cup Pontiac, will go head-to-head with Dave Blaney, Sharon Speedway owner and driver of the NASCAR Winston Cup No. 77 Jasper Engines and Transmissions Ford, and other BRP Modified drivers.
Reserved seats cost $27 for ages 13 and older and $14 for ages 3-12. General admission prices are $25 for ages 13 and older and $12 for ages 6-12. Children ages 5 and younger are free.
