YOUNGSTOWN Control board

Friday, April 19, 2002

The city's board of control -- the mayor, law director and finance director -- approved these items Thursday:
Amended the agreement with developers of the B & amp;O Station to provide the city with $200,000 in cash, put in escrow, as a guarantee the project is completed. The deal originally called for a letter of credit from a bank or a performance bond.
Hired Glenn Bowers, former Boardman police chief, as a consultant to interview people in the city police department and provide written specifications on record management software for police and the 911 center. The cost is $75 per hour, not to exceed $3,000.
Awarded a $688,000 contract to Environmental Construction Inc. to remove asbestos and demolish the former Edgewood Apartments building. The federal government will pay the entire cost.
Made changes to the contract with A.P. O'Horo of Youngstown for site work at the Ohio Works Industrial Park, deducting a total of $148,707 from the contract. That leaves the contract at $2.55 million.
