KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Kurt Michaelis and Emily Schnitkey set school records in the 1,500-meter run in the Tennessee Sea Ray Relays.
Michaelis set a record with a sixth-place time of 3 minutes, 47.17 seconds, breaking his old mark of 3:49.45. Schnitkey placed 24th in 4:39.05, breaking former athlete Becky Rudzik's nine-year-old record (4:40.9).
Nick Smith ran a personal-best time in the 1,500 (3:57.76) to finish 37th. Paul Robinette was sixth in the 3,000 steeplechase (9:43.51), and Jen Moore was 39th in the 800 (2:16.24).
Several athletes competed in the All-Ohio Championships.
Jeanna Cunningham ran a personal-best time of 25.47 in the 200 to place 10th.
Other placers included: Dan Cuesta in the 800 (21st, 1:59.79); Jon Krezeczowski in the 800 (27th, 2:06.64); Jeremy Riehm in the 5,000 (seventh, 15:34); Adam Belmonte in the 10,000 (11th, 34:31.51); and Chris Hine in the 10,000 (12th, 35:27.47).
For the women, Janae Stephens was 15th in the 200 (26.10) and seventh in the 400 (58.47), Lindsay Frontz was 11th in the 1,500 (4:51), Lindsay Wojciak was 16th in the 1,500 (4:57.71), Emily Schnitkey was fourth in the 5,000 (17:59.23) and Andrea Bardy was fifth in the 10,000 (39:46.90).
Danielle Sexton was 12th in the javelin (91 feet, 2 inches) and Delores Gaines was 16th in the shot put (40-5 1/2).
Men's tennis
BOARDMAN -- Senior Kyle Kestner finished his career with a win at No. 6 singles Saturday night as Youngstown State defeated St. Francis (Pa.) 7-0.
Kestner defeated Kevin Sommers 6-4, 6-0 and joined Kevin Schaffert for an 8-1 win at No. 3 doubles for the Penguins (3-9).
Other Youngstown State singles winners were Seth Banks at No. 1, Ryen Valentine at No. 2, R.J. Pepino at No. 3, Brandon Williams at No. 4 and Schaffert at No. 5.
In doubles, the teams of Banks-Williams and Pepino-Valentine also recorded victories.
Games postponed
The Youngstown State-Detroit baseball doubleheader Sunday was postponed for the third consecutive day when officials determined the field was unplayable.
The teams will attempt to make up the games, but no date has been set.
The Youngstown State-Butler softball doubleheader Sunday was postponed and scheduled for today at noon. The YSU-Akron doubleheader, originally scheduled for 3 p.m. today, also was postponed, with no make-up date set.

Blewitt setsOhio record
COLUMBUS -- Ashland University junior Adriane Blewitt, a Boardman High graduate, set a personal-best and state record in the shot put at the All-Ohio meet at Ohio State.
She won the event with a throw of 56 feet, 4 1/2 inches, breaking the old Ohio collegiate record of 55 1/4, set by Kent State's Leslie Vidmar in 1999. Blewitt's throw also set a new Division II national record.
Blewitt also placed second in the discus (162-0) and hammer throw (182-4).
Blewitt, who was one of six nominees for Ashland's Student-Athlete of the Year award, has qualified for the USATF championship meet this summer and will compete against the country's best throwers at any level.
Correction
EAST PALESTINE -- Warren Kennedy High's Michelle Rossio threw the discus 124 feet Saturday to finish second in the East Palestine Invitational. Her distance and place were incorrect in Sunday's editions.

* IMOLA, Italy -- World champion Michael Schumacher led a 1-2 Ferrari finish to win the San Marino Grand Prix for his third victory in four races this season.
The German beat Brazilian teammate Rubens Barrichello by 17.9 seconds on Ferrari's home circuit for the 56th victory of his career.
* WALL TOWNSHIP, N.J. -- Race driver Michael R. DeSantis died after crashing at Wall Township Speedway.
DeSantis, 53, of South River, crashed his mini stock car into a wall on the eighth lap of the Legends feature race.

* AMELIA ISLAND, Fla. -- A slow start in the final of the Bausch & amp; Lomb Championships didn't faze Venus Williams. It only made her more determined to rally and beat Justine Henin 2-6, 7-5, 7-6 (5) for her fourth title this year.
The title was her 16th in the past three seasons, and 25th overall, pushing her earnings past $9.8 million.
* OEIRAS, Portugal -- David Nalbandian of Argentina and Magui Serna of Spain won their first titles, capturing the men's and women's finals at the Estoril Open.
Nalbandian downed Finland's Jarkko Nieminen 6-4, 7-6 (5). Serna, seeded fourth, used an attacking game to beat German qualifier Anca Barna 6-4, 6-2.
* CASABLANCA, Morocco -- Younes El Aynaoui of Morocco beat defending champion Guillermo Canas of Argentina 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 to win the clay-court Grand Prix Hassan II Open.

LONDON -- Khalid Khannouchi of the United States broke his own world record for the marathon, winning the London Marathon in 2 hours, 5 minutes, 38 seconds.
