Jewish community to join rally in D.C.



YOUNGSTOWN -- Members of the local Jewish community plan to join supporters of Israel and the Israeli and American war against terrorism at a rally Monday at the U.S. Capitol.
Bonnie Deutsch Burdman, director of the Jewish Community Relations Council of the Youngstown Area Jewish Federation, said a bus will leave at 5 a.m. Monday from the Jewish Community Center on Gypsy Lane.
The national event is organized by the United Jewish Communities, the Jewish Council for Public Affairs, the Conference of Presidents of Major Jewish Organizations and other national Jewish organizations.
Organizers expect about 100,000 ralliers, with speakers to include former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, former New York City Mayor Rudy Guiliani, AFL-CIO President John Sweeney and Elie Wiesel, Nobel prize winner and Holocaust survivor.
