33rd anniversary
YOUNGSTOWN -- Third Baptist Church is celebrating the 33rd anniversary of its Inspirational Choir with a concert at 4 p.m. April 28.
Veteran to speak
STEUBENVILLE -- U.S. fighter pilot Guy Gruters spent six years in North Vietnamese prison camps after he was shot down. He will share his testimony at 8 p.m. Thursday at the Franciscan University of Steubenville. There is no cost.
Play presented
NILES -- Victory Christian School at Pleasant Valley Church will present "One Foot in Heaven" at 7 p.m. today. The cost is $4 for adults and $2 for students. The play focuses on a pastor and family after they move into a new parsonage.
Flame Fellowship meets
YOUNGSTOWN -- Lucille Orr of Canfield, a former teacher who says she was healed of sensitivity to multiple chemicals, will speak at the Youngstown Chapter of Flame Fellowship International at 11 a.m. Monday in the Georgeanna Parker Activity Center in Boardman Park. Presbyterian programs
WARREN -- The senior high group of First Presbyterian Church will participate in an urban work camp through the Maxwell Street Presbyterian Church of Lexington, Ky. From June 29 to July 5, youths will work at social agencies throughout that city. The youths have raised $2,800 to date for the trip through fellowship breakfasts at 11 a.m. on the first Sunday of each month.
The Miriam-Esther Circle of the church has been asked by Beatitude House, with which the church is affiliated, to help furnish eight apartments for the Potter's Wheel program. The Potter's Wheel helps to provide a job and life skills to disadvantaged women. Those interested in donating should call (330) 393-0684.
Padre Pio meeting set
