PREP SOCCER Graves leads Ursuline to win with four goals



The sophomore forward has scored 10 goals in nine matches.
STRUTHERS -- Sophomore forward P.J. Graves scored four goals as the Ursuline High boys soccer team defeated Lakeview 4-2 Thursday at Valley Sports.
Graves has 10 goals in nine matches.
Sean Upshir and Phillip Butch scored early goals for Lakeview, which led 2-1 at the half.
Joe Costatini had two assists, while Jeff Serenko and Dan Craig each had one assist for the Irish (5-3-1).
Dan Frank had five saves in goal for the Irish, while Alex Koltsov had 12 saves for Lakeview.
Chaney 1, Newton Falls 0: YOUNGSTOWN -- Junior forward Mike Pero scored from 12 yards out shortly into the second half for the Cowboys (4-3-1).
Terrance Phelps had the assist for Chaney.
Dave Copanic had seven saves for the Cowboys.
Hubbard 9, United 1: HUBBARD -- Justin Daly scored five goals to pace the Eagles' victory over United.
Matt Tringhese added two goals, while A.J. Giancola and Josh Petrusko each had one as Hubbard (6-0-2) out-shot United 48-5.
Hubbard assists went to Chris Styn, Tom Angelo and Daly. Keeper Justin Hayek had three saves.
United got its goal on a penalty kick.
Oak Glen (W.Va.) 3, Crestview 0: COLUMBIANA -- Rance Everly had two goals and Justin Conroy the other for Oak Glen (7-2).
Crestview is 5-6.
Girls: KINSMAN -- Anna DeJulio scored two goals, while Jamie Duvall, Nicole Stefanick and Lisa Jugenheimer added one apiece as Hubbard defeated Badger 5-0.
DeJulio, Stefanick and Adrienne Wolf had an assist apiece. The Eagles (7-1-1) had 27 shots on goal. Badger goalkeeper Elizabeth Smith had 13 saves.
Newton Falls 1, Liberty 1: NEWTON FALLS -- Brittny Humphrey scored a goal for the Leopards (2-5-2) off an assist by Amy Banner in the first half.
Deseree Sterling tied it up for the Tigers (1-6-1) when she scored off an assist from Kellie Drake, also with 10 minutes remaining in the first half.
Rachael Tharp, goalkeeper, had 13 saves for the Leopards. Goalkeeper Racheal Brazin of Newton Falls had 10 saves.
