Waynesburg 3, Thiel 1: GREENVILLE, Pa. -- The Tomcats took an early lead on Mercer High graduate Jonathon Bobanick's goal. Ben Roman scored twice for Waynesburg. Thiel (1-7, 0-3 in the Presidents Athletic Conference) plays at Westminster Friday at 5 p.m.
Slippery Rock 3, Davis & amp; Eakins 2: Freshman Matt Reade's goal in the first overtime was the game-winner. Pedro Power and Phil Amoroso also scored while goalkeeper James Caleo made five saves. The Rockets play Millersville Saturday at 1 p.m.
MEN'S TENNIS
Allegheny 6, Slippery Rock 3: Will Shaffer won the No. 5 singles match (3-6, 6-4, 6-4) and teamed with Chris Nedden for a doubles win. Alex Slezak and Brandon Forsburg won the other SRU point in a doubles match.
VOLLEYBALL
Westminster 30-30-30, Thiel 20-13-23: NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- Crestview graduate Shannon Simmons had 13 kills. The Titans are 1-0 in the PAC.
Westminster 30-30-30, Geneva 12-15-18: NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- Simmons had 13 kills as the Titans improved to 5-5. The Titans will be at home Thursday at 7:15 p.m. to play Waynesburg.
WOMEN'S TENNIS
Bethany 9, Thiel 0: GREENVILLE, Pa. -- Thiel (2-3 0-2 in the PAC) will be at home to play Edinboro Thursday at 3:30 p.m.
Slippery Rock 9, Allegheny 0: Ella Reilley, Jessica Bungo, Kelly Anderson, Amanda Willoughby and Leslie Noll recorded singles and doubles wins. The Rockets (1-0) will compete in the West Virginia Duals this weekend.
