Show to honor America



Fireworks following Saturday's game at Stambaugh Stadium will carry a message.
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Youngstown State University Department of Athletics and B.J. Alan Fireworks will present an "All-American post-game Fireworks Show" following the Penguins' football game with Western Illinois Saturday night.
The game kicks off at 7 p.m. at Stambaugh Stadium. Youngstown State is ranked third in The Sports Network I-AA poll and Western Illinois is No. 6.
"We hope the Penguin fans throughout the Valley will take this opportunity to support the YSU football team and enjoy a tremendous tribute," said athletics director Ron Strollo.
Remembrance: The "Tribute to Americans" fireworks show will be dedicated to the victims, rescue workers and members of the armed forces following last week's tragic events in New York, Washington, D.C., and Pennsylvania.
Also on Saturday, the first 10,000 fans in attendance will receive a printed American flag and a set of YSU senior football trading cards.
"Fins to the Left" will be performing the sounds of Jimmy Buffett in the tailgate lot from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. A display of Harley Davidson motorcycles will be on display in the main tailgate lot.
The Youngstown Area Red Cross will be at each gate at the stadium accepting monetary donations for the rescue efforts in New York and Washington, D.C.
