Sweet Adelines
HUBBARD -- Spirit of the Valley Chorus, a chapter of Sweet Adelines International, is calling all women who like to sing to attend guest night at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 24 at Grace Lutheran Church, 111 Hall Ave. Members rehearse each Monday at 7:30 p.m. The organization is dedicated to the preservation and performance of four-part harmony, barbershop style.
Hospice training
NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- Hospice of St. Francis staff will train people interested in volunteering there. Classes will be offered for six weeks beginning at 6 p.m. Sept. 18. Training will cover everything from providing respite care to patients to clerical duties. Hospice care is primarily based in the homes of terminally ill patients. Classes will be at the Hospice of St. Francis conference room, 217 N. Mill St. those interested should call Marlene Gruey at (724) 652-8856, Ext. 226.
